Staton has recently been tapped to play the lead co-starring role in a brand new Wiki Channel pilot. Staton is currently a recurring character in the short series What's Up With...? and will be starring in an upcoming Wiki Channel Original Movie later this year. The pilot titled Nerd Girls (working title) will be a buddy comedy in which Staton will lay one of the two leading ladies.

Nerd Girls centers around Kristie (Staton) and Kelsey, nerdy and quirky one and the same best friends who get accepted into an elite high school for the cream of the crop intelligence. Now in a world where they can finally fit in, the two try to get the most they can out of it while facing the crazy challenges their new environment throws at them. The series is created by Jessie1010, creator of hit Wiki Channel shows such as G.I. Jennings and High School Story.

Staton can not only be seen as the neighborhood fangirl in What's Up With...? but she also can be seen as Renee Sage in Too Little Too Late, an upcoming Wiki Channel Original Movie, as the leading lady who gets everything she has ripped away from her when her lawyer father looses his case. Also a singer, Staton released two singles so far with Wiki Records titled "Messing With My Head" and "Loosing You" and her debut album is set to be releasing sometime later this year. Staton is also very well known for being a very active and entertaining member of the popular 'Chatter' social network on which many actors and singers communicate with their fans.

Staton will be playing one half of the nerd girls, Kristie, and casting for her quirky counterpart is currently taking place. "This was probably one of the most exciting announcements I ever heard!" Staton excitedly told us about landing the role. "I found out what the series was about and automatically fell in love with it! I like what the message from the series states! So ya! I am so excited for you to see it!" Wiki Channel tells The Pilot that Staton will also have some creative involvement in the series and will work with the production staff.

Casting for roles in Nerd Girls is currently taking place. The pilot is set to film later this winter.
